Dark Spectrum Prologue

It was a cold spring morning in Ponyville, and all was well, or so it appeared.
As Rainbow Dash emerged from her house she got the smallest feeling that something wasn't quite right in her perfect world.

She flew along her usual path moving clouds as she went, she eventually got bored with the usual clouds and decided to make her own. Dash flew downward pushing herself almost to the point of a Sonic Rainboom; she suddenly spun upward and skyrocketed into the cloud above her. She began to fly in circles getting faster after every revolution each time adjusting her angle ever so slightly. The result was a gigantic spiraling cloud. It resembled a tornado except for one minor detail; it was rainbow colored.

Dash hadn't realized, but due to her intense speed, some of her famous color had actually rubbed off on the cloud. She looked down on the world and saw all the ponies in Ponyville staring in awe. This filled her with even more pride than she had on her own; she quickly flew down to greet the astonished crowd.

To her surprise, when she landed she realized it was not the cloud everypony stared at, but something different, somePONY different. Slightly to the left of her spiraling rainbow cloud was a black pegasus, much like herself with a mane of bizarre neon colors flying in circles and patterns around the clouds, turning them black.

Dash was amazed. Nopony has ever turned a cloud's color like that! she thought, and then suddenly she noticed the clouds begin to blink. They looked as if their insides were exploding with color. This extraordinary pegasus had created a light show with the clouds. Dash was mortified she had to discover who this mysterious mare was and what exactly she wanted. Little did she know, she would find out everything she wanted to know, and much, much more.
